To appoint Joanne Brigham as the new Chair of the Boston Town Board.

As part of the transitional arrangements for the re-purposed Boston Town Board the current Chair has advised the Council and the Town Board that he intends to step down from the position whilst supporting an effective hand-over to a new Chair.

The appointment of a new permanent Chair from within the current Board membership who has relevant background experience, skills and knowledge for the role, by the lead local authority in accordance with the Board’s Terms of Reference and Government guidance, will support the Board to take forward its important work programme for the Town of Boston.

The process for selecting a new Chair could be opened to wider nominations. However, the Board is at an important stage with developing its Long-Term Plan for Boston and it is important to maintain momentum with this work to meet the required deadlines.
