THE WORSHIPFUL THE MAYOR OF BOSTON
COUNCILLOR ANNE DORRIAN
Councillor Anne Dorrian was appointed Mayor of Boston on Monday 16 May 2022.
The Mayor was born in the West of Scotland, and lived on the Ayrshire coast. Councillor Dorrian attended univeristy in Hull, where she qualified as a PE teacher and was appointed at Kirton Secondary School in 1982.
The Mayor settled in Boston and after starting her own family, she became Area Youth Worker for the town and ran Focus 1 Youth Centre for over ten years. She returned to her first love of teaching in 2011 and spent the last decade of her career at Haven High Academy before retiring in August 2021.
Councillor Dorrian was first elected to the Borough Council in 2007 until 2011 and re-elected in 2019; and has remained an Independent Councillor throughout, representing Skirbeck Ward. Councillor Dorrian is a member of the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC).
The Mayor's Consort for the year is her husband, Mr David Middleton.
Councillor Dorrian has appointed Councillor Brian Rush as her deputy for the Mayoral year. Councillor Rush represents Staniland Ward and served as Mayor of Boston in 2017-18. Mrs Jayne Rush is the Deputy Mayoress.
Her nominated charities for the year are Guide Dogs for the Blind and Boston Foodbank.
