Decision:
To suspend the Boston Market for 28 November
2026 to enable the delivery of the annual Christmas
Festival.
Reasons for the decision:
The Boston Markets are held every Wednesday
and Saturday throughout the year in the Marketplace, but under
section 4 of the Council’s Markets policy, there may be days
when Markets will not be held to allow for the annual Christmas
Festival.
Members, as confirmed by the Leader, wish to see the suspension of
the Boston market in the Marketplace with the provision of
alternative pitches provided throughout the town centre, on 28
November 2026, to enable the delivery of the annual Christmas
Festival event.
Alternative options considered:
Not to offer pitches as part of the Boston
Christmas Festival.
