The Overview and Scrutiny Committee’s main responsibility is to hold the Council’s decision-makers to account, to scrutinise their work and to make recommendations for improvements in the delivery of local services or decision making. This review function plays an important role in ensuring the effectiveness of the Council’s policies and performance as well as maintaining democratic transparency and, where necessary, challenge of Council decisions.

At each Overview & Scrutiny Committee meeting there is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions. Here we explain the process for asking questions.
