Cabinet and responsibilities
The Cabinet is the principal decision making body of the Council. The Leader of the Council is Chairman of the Cabinet.
The Cabinet is made up of the Leader of Council and six Cabinet Members, each with a specific area of responsibility (called a 'Portfolio').
Cllr Anne Dorrian (Boston Independent. Skirbeck) – Leader of the Council
Responsibilities: Performance and Improvement, County and Regional, Transformation, Community Safety & CCTV, Town Deal, Infrastructure, Emergency Planning, Human Resources, Project Management, Corporate Governance, Democratic Services, Economic Growth, Devolution, Communications and Transport.
Cllr Dale Broughton (Boston Independent. Coastal) – Deputy Leader of the Council
Nominated to act as Leader in the Leader’s absence
Responsibilities: Town Centre Development, Markets, Public Toilets, May Fair, Events, Health & Safety, Licensing & Land, Crematoria, Cemeteries, Allotments, Parks and Open Spaces.
Cllr Callum Butler (Boston Independent. Old Leake and Wrangle) – Environmental
Responsibilities: Street Cleaning, Green Waste, Refuse & Recycling, Environmental Health, Climate Change, Flood and Risk.
Cllr John Baxter (Boston Independent. Old Leake and Wrangle) – Housing
Responsibilities: Housing & Homeless, Building Control, Property and Strategic Planning.
Cllr Emma Cresswell (Boston Independent. Trinity) – Communities - People
Responsibilities: Child & Adult Safeguarding, Skills Agenda, Older People, Parish Councils, Health & Wellbeing, Community Development, Voluntary Sector Support, Customer Services and Complaints.
Cllr Sandeep Ghosh (Boston Independent. Witham) – Finance
Responsibilities: Finance (including Revenues & Benefits), Procurement, Data Protection, Freedom of Information, I.T., Commercialism, Carparks and PSPS.
Cllr Sarah Sharpe (Boston Independent. Fishtoft) – Culture
Responsibilities: Heritage & Conservation, Tourism & Culture, Guildhall, Tourist Information Centre, Arts and Leisure Services.
