Cabinet and responsibilities

 

The Cabinet is the principal decision making body of the Council. The Leader of the Council is Chairman of the Cabinet.

 

The Cabinet is made up of the Leader of Council and eight Cabinet Members, each with a specific area of responsibility (called a 'Portfolio').

 

Cllr Dale Broughton (Progressive Independents Boston. Coastal) – Leader of the Council

 

Responsibilities: Performance and Improvement, Local Government Reorganisation, Transformation, Corporate Governance, Democratic Services, Communications, Events, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and CCTV.

 

Cllr Mike Gilbert (20-20 Independent Group. Staniland) – Deputy Leader of the Council

 

Nominated to act as Leader in the Leader’s absence

 

Responsibilities: Town Centre Development, Markets, Public Toilets, Car Parks and Neighbourhood Board.

 

Cllr John Baxter (Progressive Independents Boston. Old Leake and Wrangle) – Housing

 

Responsibilities: Housing & Homeless, Building Control, Property and Assets.

 

Cllr Callum Butler (Progressive Independents Boston. Old Leake and Wrangle) – Environmental Services

 

Responsibilities: Refuse and Recycling, Environmental Health, Street Cleaning and Green Waste.

 

Cllr Sandeep Ghosh (Progressive Independents Boston. Witham) – Finance and Economic Growth

 

Responsibilities: Finance (including Revenues & Benefits), Procurement, Data Protection, Freedom of Information, I.T., Commercialism, PSPS, Economic Growth and UK Shared Prosperity Fund oversight and decision making.

 

Cllr Chris Mountain (Progressive Independents Boston. Wyberton) – Infrastructure

 

Responsibilities: Strategic Planning, Boston 2040, Flood & Risk, Licensing and Land Charges.  

 

Cllr Claire Rylott (Conservative. Kirton and Frampton) – Green Spaces and Travel

 

Responsibilities: Travel and Active Travel, Allotments, Open Spaces, Crematoria, Cemeteries, Climate Change/Net Zero and Warm Homes.

 

Cllr Sarah Sharpe (Progressive Independents Boston. Fishtoft) – Heritage, Culture and Tourism

 

Responsibilities: Heritage & Conservation, Tourism & Culture, Guildhall, Tourist Information Centre, Arts, Leisure Services, N.P.O.

 

Cllr Helen Staples (Progressive Independents Boston. Fishtoft) – Communities 

 

Responsibilities: Child & Adult Safeguarding, Skills Agenda, Older People, Parish Councils, Health & Wellbeing, Community Development, Voluntary Sector Support, Customer Services & Complaints.
